A cat dad couldn’t find his cat for three days, and then he received a text message…

A cat dad’s beloved feline went missing and no matter how hard he looked, he couldn’t find her. Heartbroken, he searched for three days, and then out of the blue, he got a text: “Hey, I bought your old couch a few days ago, and guess what? There’s a cat hiding inside?!”

Here’s the scoop: A Canadian cat dad, Matt Lumabi, and his calico cat, Marley, were gearing up to move to their new pad in Vancouver.

Seeing the move as a perfect chance, Matt decided to sell his old couch. It didn’t take long before someone online snapped it up.

Matt was thrilled. He quickly got the couch wrapped up and shipped it off to the buyer.

That’s when Matt realized, it’d been a while since he’d seen his cat around.

He thought maybe she was snoozing in some nook around the house, or might’ve slipped out unnoticed during the move.

But, after scouring the house and neighborhood multiple times, Marley was nowhere to be found.

Matt even made a bunch of lost cat flyers and spread the word to his neighbors and online.

He was super worried. He shared online that his 3-year-old indoor cat was shy and easily scared, fearing she might be in danger after possibly bolting outside.

He even offered a $200 reward to anyone who could bring her back…

Fast forward three days, Matt was at his wit’s end, feeling hopeless… That’s when he got that call from his couch’s buyer:

“Hey, you won’t believe this, but there was a cat in the sofa you sold me!”

Later, the buyer sent Matt a photo of the cat, and sure enough, it was Marley. She’d sneaked into the couch and ended up being shipped off with it.

The poor cat got hauled off without a single meow… probably too petrified to make a peep or move!

Matt finally drove out to retrieve his furry friend. He shared, “When we first saw each other, her mouth was hanging open. Couldn’t tell if she was stunned or scared.

But one thing’s for sure, she’s never going to want to step foot outside again.”

Later, Matt took Marley for a check-up, and thankfully, she was fine.

So, a word to the wise for all you cat parents out there – always double-check your old furniture before selling it!
