Cat Catastrophe Averted: ‘Hey, I’m Still Here!’ – A Misguided Funeral
Let’s make a pact: if you’re not 100% sure your furball’s kicked the bucket, maybe hold off on the funeral plans.
So, Nathan Sonoras, this dude, adopted a street-smart black cat named Loki.
Nathan’s been dreaming of a black cat since he was a kiddo. Totally dug Loki’s sleek black fur and treated it like royalty with top-notch grub and a bunch of toys.
He even introduced Loki to the fam, and they all fell for this charming little critter. Nathan and his dad even did the whole vet trip for shots and a microchip, officially making Loki part of the crew.
Sure, Loki’s a homebody for meals and snoozes, but it’s still a street cat at heart. Probably has a whole territory to patrol out there!
But, Loki’s no fool. It knows where its bread’s buttered. After its daily rounds, it always comes back home.
Every day, Loki refuels at home, and Nathan finds his peace. Just like that, they become each other’s irreplaceable sidekicks.
Nathan feels super lucky to have a cat’s unwavering trust. It’s a real treat.
And talk about good luck – he landed his dream girl not long after Loki came into his life.
Loki’s seen it all, from their first date to camping trips. It’s always there, tagging along and being a total good sport.
Nathan thought he’d have this purrfect life for years, but life had other plans!
One evening, driving home, Nathan spots something dark on the road.
He brushes it off at first, thinking it’s just a misplaced jacket…
But, as he gets closer, the headlights reveal it’s not a jacket but a black kitten!!
Panic mode! He rushes out and finds, to his horror, it’s his Loki!!!!
The sight of Loki, lifeless and crushed, breaks Nathan. He tears up, moving the body aside and calls his girlfriend for help.
They decide to bury Loki in her quiet, pretty backyard as a final resting place.
Heartbroken, they give Loki a heartfelt send-off under a tree, hoping it’s now frolicking in kitty heaven, far from earthly dangers.
They weep into the night, finally heading home exhausted and red-eyed.
The next morning, a wrecked Nathan breaks down again when telling his dad about the tragic night.
As they’re talking, a familiar meow interrupts them…
They turn around and – surprise! – there’s Loki, alive and well!
Loki strolls in, business as usual, heading straight for its food.
Nathan and his dad are floored:
A cat comeback? What just happened? Loki’s alive?
Still teary, Nathan scoops up Loki, overwhelmed with relief.
Between sobs, he asks:
“Loki, you’re really alive? Are you my Loki, or some parallel universe twin?”
Loki, unimpressed: “What’s with the waterworks, dude? I’m right here!”
So, the cat they buried… not Loki?
With that nagging question, they check Loki’s chip, and yep, their Loki’s right here. That other cat just looked like him.
After this rollercoaster of emotions, Nathan’s rethinking the whole ‘let Loki roam’ plan.
