After being bullied by the neighbor’s cat for a year, she finally couldn’t stand it anymore and fought back desperately

The story begins like something out of an indie movie. A straightforward, big orange cat named Joy and her owner, a dedicated cat-lover, enjoy a simple yet blissful existence. Their home isn’t lavish, and their lifestyle isn’t extravagant, but it’s filled with a comforting sense of stability.

A little introduction is due: the cat, Joy, has a playful and cute aura (not really, though).

As is often the case with orange cats, their genes are mighty. Joy ballooned up like noodles in water, particularly noticeable when she squeezed into slightly snug clothes. You’d think she’s been on a decade-long fitness regimen!

Her heft is actually a testament to the good care she receives…

I have to admit, I’m a bit envious. The girl, living in the city, has the fortune of residing in a house with its own small yard. It’s a worker’s dream home. For Joy, it’s paradise, where she can bask in the yard’s breeze at her leisure.

But prolonged solitude sometimes left Joy feeling lonely. When her owner wasn’t looking, she contemplated jumping over the wall to escape.

Sadly, her sizeable physique made such escapades impractical. After struggling futilely at the wall, Joy had to abandon this plan, her expression deflated like a frost-damaged eggplant – quite a sight, to be honest.

Accepting her situation, Joy made peace with her life. It wasn’t half bad: stylish attire, an endless supply of cat food, freeze-dried treats, and canned goodies…

The highlight? Her owner’s occasional pampering sessions with relaxing baths. These were Joy’s favorite, and she never wanted to leave the tub, wishing she could linger there all night.

Trouble on the Horizon This idyllic life hit a snag a few months in. The girl’s neighbor moved out, and the new arrival brought along a kitten named Rice. At first glance, Rice seemed nice – perhaps a new playmate for Joy?

Reality, however, was harsher than expected. Not all cats get along, and Joy and Rice certainly didn’t.

Soon after the new neighbor settled in, a shadow loomed on the girl’s fence. It was unmistakably Rice.

Rice became a daily irritant, taunting Joy from atop the fence with a menacing air. Though we can’t decipher cat talk, Joy’s tense posture said enough – these were no friendly exchanges.

Initially, the girl didn’t worry much. Rice couldn’t physically enter their space, so his yowling seemed harmless. But as the saying goes, “The kind are easy targets.” The more the girl ignored Rice, the bolder he became, escalating from daytime taunts to nighttime tirades, fraying everyone’s nerves.

Rice’s antics grew bolder. He wasn’t content just perching on the wall; he started coming right up to the girl’s door, unleashing his tirades through the screen, with his unpleasant yowls striking at random.

Enough Is Enough For over six months, Rice was as regular as a clock, making daily visits to heckle and harass. It was too much.

The girl finally reached her breaking point. She approached her neighbor to discuss Rice’s behavior and discovered his lack of neutering was contributing to his strong territorial instincts. He saw Joy as an intruder on his turf, hence his relentless hostility.

The neighbor was understanding and promptly arranged for Rice’s neutering.

During Rice’s recovery, peace returned. Joy resumed her carefree romps in the yard, and life seemed to be returning to its previous tranquil state.

However, old habits die hard. Despite his neutering, Rice’s demeanor didn’t change overnight.

After a brief respite, the nightmare resumed, even more intensely than before.

Rice wasn’t content with his usual doorstep antics anymore. He snuck into the house, confronting Joy directly. The air crackled with tension as both cats prepared for a showdown. The girl, fearing the worst, stepped in before things escalated.

She couldn’t risk harm to Rice in her home – the consequences could be significant. So, at the critical moment, she restrained Joy, averting a full-blown catfight.

Despite numerous retreats and discussions, the situation remained unresolved. A peaceful coexistence between Rice and Joy seemed impossible. It was time for a decisive confrontation.

A year and a half of constant strife had taken its toll. The mere sound of Rice’s yowling sent shivers down the girl’s spine.

Then, one night, Rice was back, as brazen and disrespectful as ever. But this time, the girl was ready. She opened the door and gave Joy the signal: “Go, Joy, don’t hold back!”

Pushed to her limits, Joy sprung into action, pinning Rice down in a display of feline might, not relenting until he begged for mercy.

In that moment, Joy’s image transformed. She was no longer just a hefty orange cat. Perhaps even Rice was rattled, desperately seeking an escape, but Joy, riding a wave of adrenaline, wasn’t about to let up.

Rice, with barely any fight left, just wanted to flee. In his hasty retreat, he wrecked the girl’s potted plants but finally managed to scale the wall and escape.

The once docile orange cat, now a symbol of retribution, had wanted to pursue, but the girl called her back. Over a year’s worth of pent-up frustration had been unleashed. As for Rice, he likely wouldn’t dare trespass again.

In the days that followed, Rice still perched atop the wall but no longer dared to provoke. He just watched from a distance, a silent spectator to Joy’s joyful realm.

The lesson here? Even the most unassuming can reach their limit. It’s important not to push too hard and to leave room for understanding and peace.
